·Relative Humidity equilibrium between the Great Outdoors and the Interiors of ourbuildings
·Effects of different levels of Relative Humidity on buildings and flooring (solid and engineered)
·Review of Engineered Wood Construction and Issues
·Hands on one-day class on how to inspect Solid wood flooring
·Adhesives, Green Products and Problem solving for glued down products.
The Instructors
Dr. Phil Mitchell has worked with Extension for the past 14 years improving manufacturing processes at secondary wood products plants. (Engineered Wood)
Dr. Dave Tilotta works with educational programs and provides assistance for sustainable wood housing and construction in North Carolina. (Mold, mildew and moisture issues)
Mr. Howard Brickman was Technical Director at the former National Oak Flooring Manufacturing Association, Winner of the Floor of the Year Award, owner of Brickman Consulting, and a principle member and instructor for the Wood Guild that teaches installers how to make custom floors, and medallions. He will be teaching a one day “How to Collect and Interpret Data” on site for inspectors. So that inspectors will have comprehensive well documented reports.

Mr. Wood, founder of Advance Adhesive Technologies, will be instructing on new Green Products, Adhesives and new Green Adhesives, and Inspection techniques for Glued Products. Mr. Wood is retired from AAT but is an internationally known consultant who travels the world problem solving installation complaints.
Mr. Mark Brown, former NOFMA Inspection Instructor, will be participating in the educational and training classes for inspectors. Mr. Brown also attended the Grading School in Memphis and is a Certified Grader of lumber and wood flooring.
